Located just outside the village of Fyvie and well sign posted from the main Aberdeen - Banff road, this is a very fine example of a Scottish baronial tower house type castle which over the years has been added to and expanded until it is now a very large and elegant "country pile". It was owned by a variety of families of the Scottish aristocracy, including a branch of the of the Gordon Family from the 14th century until 1984 when it was bought by the National Trust for Scotland. The view shows the lovely South facade which comprises a central gateway flanked by drum towers. Inside it is very much an elegant Victorian/Edwardian country house.

There are many mature trees in the grounds and there is also a small loch which can be easily walked around in a couple of hours.

This is one of our favourite places to come for a walk and picnic, especially as it only a few minutes drive from our house.
